Urban Newts

[Ilian Velikov]

I found this place while wondering with my girlfriend in north-west London! There are a few places in the area, with small ponds, which are the breeding spots of the Smooth Newt (Lissotriton vulgaris). In that particular pool there were hundreds of them! Here are some photos we took:

Thanks Jurgen! We found the spot one late afternoon on the way back home. We returned the next day with a plastic box and a net...the box was a bit scratched but we managed to take some photos!
