Field Guide South Africa

Postby Jürgen Gebhart » Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:19 am

I`m looking for a good book about Herps of South Africa.
I found in the Internet
Bill Branch - Field Guide Snakes and Other Reptiles of Southern Africa
How about this? Is it a good one, any experience with that?
Do you know any other books that are worth to buy?

Thanks for your help!

It's a good book and, for about 30€, great value for money.

I have two books on South Africa (never been though  ) Both are very good photographic guides, on good paper and with good reproduction of photos, both are a bit heavy to carry in the field. The first is Frogs of Southern Africa (includes CD) by Luis du Preez and Vincent Carruthers the second is Reptiles of Southern Africa by Graham Alexaner and Johan Marais. (Think I bought them as winter pick me ups)
