It was our goal to have a look to the different Lacerta trilineata all over the distribution area. Therefore we tried to collect some Greek DNA samples. And at home (nat.hist.Mus.,Vienna) we saw, these are Lacerta viridis. Crazy, we have been sure we had found trilineata! And what´s the conclusion? You never (in some cases) know what you have in hand
I was wondering if those where hybrids and maybe you actually only analyzed the mother's DNA (mitochondrial) which shown viridis. Is there a publication for this ?

No, Werner MAYER (NHMW) did both - mitochondrial and nucleus DNA! Sorry, no paper yet
