Old photos from Sýria

Postby Martin Vlcek » Thu Dec 13, 2012 2:11 pm

Hello,
these are my old photos from Sýria, I have found again last week. In May 2000, I traveled around the Euphrates river and spent a night in the ruins Zalabia between Ar Raqqah and Dayr al-Zawr. During the night, I have found a beautiful leopard geckos Eublepharis angramainyu, but the biggest surprise for me was finding Pseudocerastes fieldi. Do you anyone have information about the distribution of these species in Syria?

Hello Martin,

I think (as far as I know) there are only two locations known for Pseudocerastes in Syria.
Around Palmyra and Jabal Sharqiyat An Nabk, about 14 km NE of An Nabk, in the neighbourhood of the Monastery Mar Musa.

Thank you for the quick response. I know that the photo is not very good, but if you want, you can use it in your database.
