Queensland 2014/2015

Postby Alexandre Roux » Thu Feb 27, 2014 2:17 pm

Hi everybody !

This is my board topic about my long stay in Queensland, Australia.
I'm still in France (Lille) with some family but I'll leave the country on saturday morning and arrive in Brisbane on monday (in the very early morning).
I'll put some pictures and text in this post.

Just before leaving France, I've been on the field, not to see snakes, but to see the wonderful Snowy owl just next to Lille.
Enjoy !

Fantastic shots. It's a decade since I visited Queensland but I'm sure you'll have a great time.

All the stories may start in your garden and in Brisbane, there's nothing else to do when you don't have a car.
Garden, garden and garden !

But how lucky I am to discover that Brisbane gardens are full of life !

Trichosurus vulpecula

Then, Brisbane have some nice Botanic garden as the Mt Coot Tha one's.
I've visited (very quickly) this Mt Coot-tha botanical garden, a nice experience. Wildlife is everywhere !
Dwarf tree frog, Green Tree snake, Cane toad, Asian House gecko, Water dragons, some turtles and some water skinks.

Phalacrocorax sulcirostris

Of course, I've also visited the City botanical garden, and that's a place where you can meet some unexpected things !!!
Still many Cane toad and Dwarf tree frogs, water dragons, Saw-shelled turtle, some skinks and, an unexpected big Carpet python !

It's already good results within the city, I cannot imagine what it will be like when you'll have the occasion to go more in the wild. Australia rocks!
