Langkawi pit vipers (Malaysia)

Cryptelytrops purpureomaculatus was boring common in mangrove habitat.

Here are some of the pit vipers met in the mangroves: some snakes were really big and massive ones. Unfortunately for me (I don't like vipers so much), these vipers were almost the only snakes we found in those type of habitat in Langkawi.

Other two species of pit vipers were met in Gunung Raya: the first one was met during the night, crossing the road (it was slighly raining, if I remember well).
The second species was spotted at the edge of the road, among grass and bushes, during the day.

Our first herp encounters were made in our hotel.

A dead Naja sp. was probably our first finding, just outside our room.

The hotel chef said to us the big "mother" Naja was spotted many times around the hotel, but we never saw it.

"Frogs" were a very common finding almost everywhere.

On the small water ponds of the island we met also strange "water spiders"...

...and, at night, water snakes!

This species remember small "anacondas"!
