Back from my third Oman Adventure (06.03. – 14.03.)
It was a nice Trip with a good Team (Sometime with different kinds of Interest)
The Team:
GertJan Verspui (The helldriver)
Philip de Pous (Science man, but was there just for holydays)
Peter Oefinger (his first snake Trip that turns, as usual in Oman to a Gecko Trip)
And me (the grumpy old man)
I`m sure you can read two great Trip reports in the next weeks.
I will make just a few notes about it.
We spend a few Days in the South.
It was great there, we found some nice species, a new locality for Uromastyx benti and a “little” surprise.
Sadly not the Cobra!
On Wednesday we fly back to the north, spend a night in the Wahiba Sands and the next Days
we searched in the mountains.
But the north was not the best, we had a very cold wind that made finding herps very difficult.
So we missed some interesting things.
All in all we found 49 Species, seven new Oman Species for me.
The new ones:
Eryx jayakari
Telescopus dhara
Mesalina ssp. (Description under Construction)
Jebel Samhan
Pristurus gallagheri
Asaccus platyrhynchus
Asaccus gallagheri
The Little surprise Myriopholis nursii
Third found in Oman and first found in the South

I`m not sure that this was the last time I was there!
