What is special on this Mesalina?

The Gartner book notes that Mesalina adramitana might be a species complex. The animals from Jebel Samhan possibly could be candidates for a species split (although they look the same as in the North)...
Btw: we failed with Mesalina ajunensis and also Omanosaura cyanura. So I will have to go back there

We searched two nights in the area for Chameleons (but mainly for Echis ) found not one!

I think that very important is the finding of Echis carinatus around Mirbat! This is the new and southernmost record for this species! Nice trip!

Peter, the nursii was realy not the coolest found of the Trip, but the most spectacular!

Very nice pictures again, Jürgen. My favourite is the Eryx! I'm happy that you got H. lemurinus at the caves this time. Did you also search at the place where we saw the cobra back in September? How was it to find herps compared to the "green" season?

I loved this trip, but trust me.......being kissed by 2 Germans for simply tracking Eryx made me think about not tracking any reptiles ever again.

Great stuff guys. My parents are moving to Muscat in a few weeks and I will certainly be planning some herping ventures out that way.
