European Ground Squirrels

From Etruscan Shrew (Suncus etruscus), which is the smallest mammal of the world to the elephant.

I've never encountered more painful photography than laying flat on the ground for hours hoping for one of these lovely creatures to come out not only in front of the camera, but also visible in the grass.

Now you know the trouble I mess around with while trying to get shots of mammals and birds hours of waiting for nothing
Seems that your son has a new hobby! :D

To the joy of my son, I gave him the Nikon and the 150 SIGMA Macro for the day and it's frightening,
but he did get some decent shots; even of the squirrels.

A trivial question from me, as you were not quite explicit about that: Who actually shot this excellent photo of
a squirrel, Leon or you? If it's him, you had made the right decision to give him the gadgets... Congrats to both.
