*drool drool drool* :o

Man, brookesia, phelsumas and the colours of Furcifer....

May I ask for how long you were there and if it was easy to go about and do some herping?

A dream-destination, only to be confirmed by your pictures.

Thanks for sharing!

Hey Yannick!

Nice to see your pictures again :D Always a pleasure to see some Malagasy animals but I'm missing the lemurs ;)

Tim: I guess Yannick will confirm again on this third trip but when we went there together in January-February 2012, it was amazing to see how almost easy it was to see reptiles there. Obviously, it happened sometimes that it took us a few hours to spot a snake (still 46 pictured snakes of 16 different species within 12 days) but overall, if you go there at the right period (at the rain season) and in the right places, you'll see plenty of animals. So can only highly recommend to anyone to go there (although you'll miss the venomous snakes for sure but with the rest, it's quite compensated in my opinion).

Is it also a safe destination? I heard they have many struggle with epidemics and crime?! Can you say something about that?
Forget Phelsuma! Uroplatus! :o

Needless to say that as a massive chameleon-nerd Madagascar is sky-high on my wishlist of places to visit! Fantastic finds, Uroplates, Brookesia, Furcifer, Sanzinia, Afrixalus... Just great! How long did you stay and did you organize it all by yourself?

Brilliant stuff! Thanks for posting.
Did you use guides or just went in yourselves? Been looking at Madagascar for ages, but difficulty and safety seems to be a big maze. And not a cheap maze at that.

Lovely stuff.

Thanks Bastien, as said by others the safety option is indeed something to consider, but I've heard stories in all kind of places and countries that are thought of as safe ;) . The snake count is indeed very impressive! Getting around was easy to be arranged?
