Two weeks in the beautiful Iran together with some dear herping friends. We were able to see almost all our main targets and many interesting species along the way. This trip had many, many highlights but hiking along slippery trails through the ancient Hyrcanian forest to go deep into a cave, crawl half naked through batshit trying to find Gorgan Cave Salamander (Paradactylodon persicus) was definitely one of them. As well as standing in a stream full of Lorestan Newts (Neurergus kaiseri) surrounded by the most stunning rock formations or hiking along hot and arid hillsides at the Iraqi border to see the Spider-tailed Horned Viper (Pseudocerastes urarachnoides). Many dream species to see in the wild!
