Back from Northern Italy

Back from Northern Italy

Postby Alexandre Roux » Mon May 29, 2017 3:28 pm

Hi everybody,

I'm back from Italy where I spent 4 days (the only days off I have this year so far  ).
We tried Salamandra atra aurorae and S.a.pasubiensis but we failed so hard
We climbed to 5 valley to be sure we were right on the place we could find pasubiensis but it was so dry.
We did the aurorae spot by night but stones were all flipped. Someone came before we did and I'm not sure he was there for the photos...

Anyway, we were lucky enough to spot Vipera walser (ready for the shed) and a very beautiful Vipera ammodytes.

No worries, I sent it a bit late
I hope I'll be more lucky next time, especially with the S.a.pasubiensis valley which I'm not sure I've really found.

pasubiensis - I tried twice without success!
But think I was at the right place!
In May 2013 it was too coold, in August 2015 ist was to hot and dry.
Must go there again - but its so hard to visit them.
