Reptiles and amphibians of the Province of Saratov

Postby Evgeny Kotelevsky » Sat Jun 24, 2017 11:40 am

I'm starting this topic to keep all my observations in one place.

I think I should start with Anguis colchica. This cryptic legless lizard is hard to find. Once uncovered it tries to hide in the leaf litter. Fortunatelly, it is not so fast as other lizards.

Those 'Lacerta agilis' look very good! I'm a noob to the taxonomy of the species going further east than Poland ;) , so excuse me for asking, is this still Lacerta agilis?

Thanks you for sharing some pics from a region that is not often shown here! Would love to see more.

Kind regards,

Tim
