Rain...at last!

Postby Jose Luis Perez » Mon Jan 21, 2019 3:23 pm

Hi all!

After 2 months without a drop, this last Saturday started raining. A short weekend trip to Western Spain delivered some species. Although the night was cold (5ºC), lots of Epidalea calamita, Pelobates cultripes and Discoglossus galganoi ssp. galganoi gathered on the road, feeding with the abundant earth worms. The gold medal went to a single male Triturus pygmaeus, what a jewel!

Some nice shots there Jose.

In Cordoba province we had our first proper rain last night (20/01/2019) but temperatures were well down. Minus figures and clear sky - the only plus was at least we got to see the eclipse.
