Herping in Switzerland 2016

Postby Bastien Comment » Sat Feb 09, 2019 5:04 pm

Hi everyone,

Damn it's been so long I haven't posted anything...finally, I've taken the time to sort out some pictures that I took in...2016! Yes I know, shame on me, I'm world nr. 1 procrastinator. Can't imagine when I'll manage to do 2017 and 2018 and 2019 is about to start shortly already… Anyway, let's start first with some pictures of landscapes and habitats that I wanted to share with you.

sans titre (2 sur 27).jpg
Not even one of my herping spot, just a nice place I visited.

Cool sight next to my Natrix maura and tessellata spot.

Nice view on the way to some top mountain spots.

Now some real habitats shots starting with plain habitats.

Top spots of the same region for Vipera aspis, Natrix natrix, Natrix maura, Hierophis viridflavus, Zamenis longissimus, Lacerta bilineata, Podarcis muralis, Emys orbicularis and more.

sans titre (1 sur 4).jpg
Such a cute little guy. And he seemed very intrigued coming out of its shelter to look what this strange big mammal was doing out there...

Now the herps. First a very few shots of Salamandra atra I've found in a Vipera berus spot.

Now some non snakes in-situ pictures. First some Emys orbicularis.

Only half in-situ I must admit because they were hidden under that green plastic bag.

And voilà. Hope you'll like the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. As I've said in my introduction, I can't imagine when I'll finally take the time to go through my 2017 and 2018 pictures not to mention the fact that I have some pictures from Costa Rica (not much because I did only a very few days there when visiting my brothers who lives in Nicaragua and unfotunately, we didn't have the opportunity to herp in Nicaragua) and from Montenegro that I should sort and post but well...

I already wish all of you a great 2019 full of herps and hope I'll some of you soon here or there ;)

Cheers!

Looks like someone is waiting for going out again! Don't worry, I think that this week-end should provide the first male aspis of the year :)
Great gallery, I will never get enough of the combination of mountains+V.aspis. I hope I will be able to make a jump in Switzerland this Spring for some hardcore sessions!

P.S: I also have hundreds of pics to edit and post. Well, next year maybe :)
