It is definitely a specimen of former Pristurus rupestris. P. carteri has a different snout and i would also say different body proportions.
According to this paper from 2014 [1] P. rupestris from southern Oman belong to a new species, but without a name, I don't know if they found out more recently.
This looks like Pristurus sp1, formerly the southern form of rupestris. We also found some big headed specimens near a fishermen village in the Dhofar. I don't know, if this form already got a name. P. Carteri lives exclusivly on sand while the rupestris group inhabits boulders lkke on this picture
