Malaysia (trying to) herping

For your reports/images, made outside Europe and the "Mediterranean" countries. Not to be too narrow minded and limited to our European/Mediterranean herps.

Now we are waiting for our airplain to leave this hot and very wet country, some details about our catches (only the snakes ofcourse).

We found 95 pc snakes.
48 Alive and 47 DOR
We found 32 sp. 2 sp unknown DOR, 9 sp only DOR and 21 sp Alive.
The most commen finding was Malaysian pitviper with 15 pc.
We found 13 Indo-Chinese Ratsnakes, all DOR (strange?).

Our biggest snake was a King Cobra from 2 - 2.5 meter. And ofcourse I used my brain and didn t catch it.

Details about other herpetofauna I don t have. I consider frogs, Lizards, skinks, ... as snakefood and I don t took the time to determinate every fooditem.

We are thinking of going back next december.

Greetings,

Peter

Hi Peter,

well you found a lot, 48 snakes alive, in 2 weeks, 4-6 people.
We will go to similar places (Lumut, Carmon Highlands, N.Sembilan), but have not time for the north. Of course, we need to look for some thrash, dump sites.

4 weeks, 3 people.
Our best place was in the North. Also for Elephants, Monkeys and Otters. That's why we went back after the Cameron Highlands.
Sent me a mail and I give you some good places to go near Lumut and C.H.
