Greetings to all! I am new to this forum but have been posting on the HerpNation Field Herp Forum for several years (username: Dr. Dark). I will be heading to Hamburg, Germany on August 1st for a few days. Our band the MANIMALS (I play drums) is playing the Wacken Open Air Festival on August 4th!!! (This is THE "Super Bowl" of heavy metal in the world for the past 23 years and we are honored/excited to play!) Anyway, I have Friday August 3rd completely open and was hoping I could hook up with someone in the area for some herping? I would LOVE to find and photograph a V. berus and some Natrix this time (got skunked on snakes two years ago in Europe). Please pm me if you are open to herping with a "metal-head" from the States. Thanks so much!
Dave

The "Lüneburger Heide" isn't really far away from Hamburg and their should live both species. But the place is very big and I don't know where exactly they live there.

Hi,
I know a good place I´ve visited and where I´ve found Palmate Newt, Slow Worm, Edible Frog, Grass Snake and a juvenile Adder.
It´s also in the Lüneburger Heide, ........... [removed by ADMIN]. A beautiful area with a pond and swamp.
Also .......[removed by ADMIN] is good for adders. I´ve visited it two times, one time I found a large slough and another time a beautiful female adder. Also many Viviparous Lizards there.
Best regards,
Julius
