Very cool pictures of the natterjacks and hylas. What lens did you use for the calling hyla and how long did it take him to start calling after shining a flashlight at him. When I approach them, they usually stop calling and stay very still.

Sandra, when they start calling at about 9 p.m. and I flashlight them they stop, but later at about 10.00 p. m. most of them don`t feel disturbed and after a short irritation they start calling again with flashlight.

They began 21.30 overthere and they did'nt stop calling shining at them . Yesterday I used a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM with Speedlite 430EX II + diffuser flash. It was the first time I used this lens.
@Kenny: Thanks for the explanation. It seems like your hylas are not as shy as the ones we have over here. The lens sounds like a good choice.
@Jürgen: It was already after 10.00 pm and they always stopped calling when I approached them, although I was amidst a total calling frenzy. Still a cool experience.
