Central-Switzerland 28. April 2012

Postby Urs Jost » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:14 pm

Hallo
Some photos from a short trip at the 28. April 2012 in the hills in the Canton Lucern.
In this area 80% of Vipera berus are black. We found 4 black females of V. berus.
Best regards
Urs and Heidi Jost

Lovely salamandra- maybe pregnant due to stoutness, I hope to see some this year. This R. temporaria is var. striata.

Yes, Urs and Heidi should have waiten for some minutes to take the pictures.
Would have been the first in situ nature pics of giving birth in Salamandra atra ;)

Great photos Urs and Heidi, especially the first adder. Seems this place may be Jurgens dream land, all those black vipers and salamanders! If only there were melanistic palaestinae... ;)

Cool little trip report. I really like the first berus shot, it has some great scenery in the background.
