Hallo
Some photos from a short trip at the 28. April 2012 in the hills in the Canton Lucern.
In this area 80% of Vipera berus are black. We found 4 black females of V. berus.

Lovely salamandra- maybe pregnant due to stoutness, I hope to see some this year. This R. temporaria is var. striata.

Yes, Urs and Heidi should have waiten for some minutes to take the pictures.
Would have been the first in situ nature pics of giving birth in Salamandra atra ;)

Great photos Urs and Heidi, especially the first adder. Seems this place may be Jurgens dream land, all those black vipers and salamanders! If only there were melanistic palaestinae... ;)
