That's really late for an adult sand lizard

I was out Tuesday, might end up being the last time this year, saw 1 grass snake & 1 one adder. The adder, almost certainly from 2012, was the first juvenile I have seen in that particular population the past 5 years. There's a good chance I witnessed its conception as well, as the population is really small and I saw two matings there last spring. Nice to know something came of it :)

Dear Andre!

That's really late. Around Vienna Sand Lizards disappear normally by middle or end of August!
The last juvenile was seen by the end of September

Looks like they don't care about the date

Beside the two adults I found 5-10 Babys (maybe a few were Zootocas - only see them run into grass) today, so looks like its not "just" one crazy animal that don't know its time to go to the hibernaculum.

Also found them regularly the last weeks too.

I'm quite impressed to see that you found a Natrix there and Sand Lizards! Yesterday I also found Zootoca vivipara (young ones) but not that much. And above all, no adult V.berus.
