I made a short Trip to Switzerland (Sunday, Monday) to the Canton Vaud for some Asp-Fun.
I had the big luck that some Herping friends guided me.
But not only Asp were on my wish-list, I also want to see the very endangered Natrix Maura from Lac Leman.
We had the luck that we found 4 Baby Snakes by flipping stones in one Minute.
3 Natrix tessellate and one N. Maura.
After getting the first Target we were visiting three different areas and we found in every area asp-vipers.
Rocky area
Bush area
All in all we found 18 Aspis and I thought “WOW this is unbeatable it cannot be better”
The next Day I meet up with another friend.
In the first area we visited, we found some Lacerta bilineata
And one Hierophis viridiflavus
I think I lost a half Liter of Blood for this poor pic
And a few asp.
From other Spots
Of course we also saw a lot of Podarcis muralis, but just one pic of them.
All in all we visited also three different areas and found over 20 individuals!
What a Trip!!
My herping friend’s thanks for guiding me, thanks for trusting me, thanks for showing me your secret spots!
You made my Days!!!
